A new bicycle made from 300 recycled Nespresso capsules

Nespresso has partnered with Swedish lifestyle bike brand Vélosophy. They released a stylish bicycle “RE:CYCLE” made from recycled aluminum coffee capsules.

Aluminum is one of the world’s most valuable resources as it can be remelted and reused over and over again. The limited edition of RE:CYCLE bike using the aluminum from recycled Nespresso capsules features the bright purple frame, inspired by Nespresso’s popular Arpeggio coffee, and the capsule-shaped bell. The basket with cup-holder gives the rider an opportunity to enjoy their favorite drink on the go.

According to Jean-Marc Duvoisin, CEO of Nespresso, “This is a perfect balance of sustainability and beautiful style. We hope that this bike will encourage coffee lovers to recycle their aluminum capsules.”

On the other hand, Jimmy Östholm, CEO and Founder of Vélosophy said:

“We created Vélosophy with a clear purpose to have a positive impact on the world. This drives everything we do, such as our promise to give a bike to a schoolgirl in Ghana for every bike we sell or rent out and the production of our city bikes from recycled aluminum.”

Currently, 1,000 of “RE: CYCLE” bikes are on sale on Vélosophy’s website (, and the price is €1,290 plus shipping.
